Gender equality and family-friendly policies

The implementation of gender equality and diversity policies is a strategic and cross-sectional task as well as a substantial guiding principle for the objectives and actions at all participation institutions of the CRC 1371.

The CRC 1371 has established a Gender Equality Team (GET) to be the key contact for all questions regarding gender equality issues and family policies.

The GET consists of 2 members of the CRC who are supported by the Coordinator and the CRC office of CRC 1371.

They are responsible to enforce the principles of gender equality within the CRC and to monitor all internal processes, such as transparent recruiting practices, especially in the IRTG, as well as unconcious gender bias (e.g. the usage of gender-appropriate language).

Individual coaching is encouraged for CRC female members and male members with a family. The Stabsstelle Chancengleichheit of TUM is our partner for individual coaching. Possible topics are:

Career planning - Development of strategies for the own professional biography - Your role as a scientist - Personal motivation profile for leading positions - Obstacles in our career path - Stress management - Work-Life Balance - Compatibility: family and science

Your contact person is Anja Quindeau, who will handle your request confidentially and will not discuss your issues with CRC associates. She will contact the coach and organize a coaching session for you, which will fit into your time schedule.

The gender program funds 4 hours of coaching; more may be funded depending on individual circumstances.

We assist in organizing emergency child care support in the event of illness of the child or the caregiver and provide special child care during CRC retreats and workshops in cooperation with the Family Service of the TUM School of Life Sciences and the KeCK of the TUM School of Medicine.
